Size Guide

Mattes Half Pads

  • Measurement A-B (Back Length) - Measure along the spine of the pad, from front to back.
  • Measurement A-X (Depth) - Measure from the top to the bottom of the pad.
  • Measurement E-F (Sheepskin Area) - This measurement will show you where the sheepskin underside will come to, if you choose any option with sheepskin that sits underneath the pad.
  • If you require sheepskin on the top, please allow 3cm overlap for each section when measuring for the correct length A-B (e.g. if you want front and back top sheepskin and your pad is 58cm long, deduct 6cm so 52cm is the space you can fit your saddle into.)

MATTES takes pride in their use of high-quality quilted fabrics, be it cotton, cotton sheen/polyester blend, or velvet. The incorporation of special glossy fibers enhances the quilting pattern, creating a sublime appearance. The extensive colour range for both cotton fabric and velvet gives you the freedom to design your pad to reflect your unique style.

Experience the innovative Mattes SPINEFREE® design, providing reliable pressure relief on the withers and spine. The core of the half pad features POLY-FLEX® for shape retention and pressure equalization, while polyester wadding provides optimal padding. Completely foam-, neoprene-, and gel-free, the whole structure is fully air permeable.

Choose the Mattes All Purpose Half Pad with the optional CORRECTION® system, available with a single or double bag. Each bag includes three felt inserts (POLY-FLEX®), each 5 mm thick, mirroring the print properties of a premium new saddle padded with wool and horsehair.
